Ainsty Dental Practice is located on Boroughbridge Road and only a short distance from York city centre. We have 3 surgeries over two floors. We are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Closed for lunch between 1-2pm.

Our Ethos
We take pride in providing you with high quality dental care in a friendly and relaxed environment. Our team are dedicated to helping you achieve and maintain good oral health through a preventative approach to dental care. We encourage you to visit regularly for check-ups and also hygienist appointments. We will take the time to provide you with oral health advice which will therefore enable you to take good care of your mouth.
A bit about us
Stephen Davies established Ainsty Dental as a private York dental practice in 2006. We provide a wide range of treatments including routine dental care, restorative treatments, dental implants and cosmetic dentistry. We offer a choice of payment options such as Denplan, in addition to pay as you go. To help you budget for dental care we offer fixed monthly payments with Denplan dental payments plans.
We aim to see registered patients in discomfort on the same day. Also we have an out of hours service for severe dental emergencies. If you are not a registered patient you are still welcome to attend the practice if suffering from a dental emergency and we will endeavour to see you as soon as possible.
On the 31st of October 2012 the practice had its first inspection by the Care Quality Commission who are the independent regulator of all health and social care services in England. The practice complied fully!

Dr Stephen Davies BChD, MSc Dental Implantology | Dentist

York Dentist Stephen qualified from Leeds University in 1999 gaining the Wattsman prize in clinical dentistry. Stephen opened Ainsty Detail Practice in 2006 and gained his Masters Degree in implantology in 2019.
Dr Rachel Green BChD, MJDF | Dentist

Dr Rachel Green qualified from Leeds University in 2006. Since then she has operated as a general dental practitioner in the York and Ryedale areas for over 16 years.
Dr Dhara Khera BDS | Dentist

Dr Dhara Khera qualified from Newcastle University in 2018 with a Merit in clinical dentistry. She regularly attends courses to further develop her skills, and is currently undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma in Restorative & Aesthetic Dentistry.
Jonathan Hughes | Clinical Dental Technician

Jonathan qualified as a dental technician in 1998 he also qualified as a clinical dental technician in 2011. He has over 20 years’ experience in the profession. Jonathan set up Hughes Dental Laboratory in 2005 and has developed and grown the business which saw it relocate in May 2017 to a purpose built laboratory. Jonathan’s passion has become driving the digital workflow that is increasingly taking hold in dentistry.
Claire Brown | Dental Hygienist

Claire trained as a dental hygienist in 1990 whilst serving in the Royal Air Force. When away from work she enjoys spending time with her family.
Rachel Davies | Practice Manager

Rachel our practice manager is married to Stephen and they have two boys William and Oliver who keep them very busy with their boisterous energy. Rachel firstly qualified as a dental nurse before going to university to qualify as registered nurse after which she worked as a community nurse for a number of years. Rachel now devotes all of her time to her family and practice managing.

Nicola Known as Nikki is our friendly receptionist and dental nurse, qualifying as a dental nurse back in 2000. She is kept young with her two children and enjoys embarrassing her daughter and having family time.

When Lola isn’t working, she likes to cycle around York and go to the gym in the evening. She also loves to cook and bake new recipes on the weekend.

Dagna is one our dental nurses. Outside of work she likes to spend time with her husband going on long walks with their dog Nina. Aside from dentistry Dagna also runs her own permanent makeup and beauty clinic.

Valaria is our newest member of the team and is studying towards her Dental Nurse Qualifications.

Amy is our friendly chatty receptionist who is also training to become a dental nurse.
