Your first visit to Ainsty Dental Practice is an ideal time to meet our friendly team, have a look around the practice facilities and ask any questions that you may have. When arriving for your first appointment, you will be greeted by our friendly reception team and given a confidential medical questionnaire to complete.
At your initial visit the dentist will discuss your wants, needs and concerns. Then we will undertake a full examination of your teeth and gums, including checking for oral cancer. Appropriate x-rays and further diagnostic tests are carried out as necessary. After this we will discuss all treatment options with you, and provide you with a treatment plan with associated fees. If you are interested in payment options we can discuss Denplan dental payment plans. We are also able to provide interest free credit for more expensive treatment (Terms and Conditions apply).

What can I do if I have tooth ache?
The earlier you are seen by a dentist the better. But if this is not possible you may take over the counter painkillers. Ibuprofen and Paracetamol are useful while you await your dental appointment.
What can I do if my face is swollen?

What can I do if I have a broken tooth?
Even if it does not hurt having a repair done in a timely manner may prevent further damage and pain.
Your local pharmacy may be able to provide you with a temporary filling material until you can see a dentist.
What can I do if I have lost my crown or bridge?
An absent crown or bridge may prevent you from smiling or chewing your food properly.
You may be able to temporarily cement your lost crown or bridge using the temporary filling pastes available at the pharmacy. Do not use household glue!
For a more permanent solution a dentist will need to be seen.
