Cosmetic Treatment Types

Some of the Cosmetic Treatments we offer.

Teeth Whitening

Over time teeth may become stained as a result of the food and drink we consume. Teeth Whitening is a simple non invasive method to brighten the smile. Here at Ainsty Dental Practice we use the White Dental Beauty home whitening system.

Porcelain Veneers

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain to fit over the front surface of a tooth, like a false fingernail fits over a nail. Therefore veneers can change the colour shape and position of teeth.

Porcelain veneers typically require 2 visits spread over 1 to 2 weeks. At the first visit for the preparation of the veneer we remove a small amount of tooth enamel. Finally the last appointment is to bond the veneer onto the tooth surface.

A crown is an artificial restoration that fits over the remaining part of a prepared tooth, therefore making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth. A crown is sometimes also know as a ‘Cap’. Porcelain, metal or also combination of both may be used to construct crowns. At the front of the mouth Porcelain crowns may also be an aesthetic solution to repair broken down teeth.

Porcelain crowns typically require 2 visits spread over 1 to 2 weeks. At the first visit for the preparation for the crown we trim down the tooth. Finally the last appointment is to bond the crown onto the tooth.

White Fillings

White fillings are now a viable alternative to metal fillings and hence providing a cosmetic solution. Previously white fillings have been thought not to last as long as metal fillings. Over the past years there have been improvements to the material used in white fillings. Consequently because of this white fillings are now a suitable long term restoration providing aesthetic results which do not show when we smile or laugh.

The Key Benefits of a Dental Implant?

Our 3 Step Process

Strategic planning is an important step in the phase of any treatment. Below outlines our 3 step Dental Implant plan.

Assessment and Planning

Firstly, we must evaluate your needs, clinical history and perform a thorough assessment. We will also perform diagnostic scans such as a CBCT (3D X-ray) to help plan your case. Above all it is important to evaluate each case to find the best solution.

The implants are placed securely into the bone and a number of sutures may be placed. 10-14 days later the sutures are removed and the implants left to integrate into the bone. In some circumstances the implants may have a temporary crown placed at the same time of placement but the permanent restorations are generally placed at approximately 12 weeks.

Implant treatment does not end when the prosthesis is placed. It is very important to follow your dentists instructions on cleaning as well as attending all of the check-ups. This is the only way to ensure your implant treatment is durable over the long term.
