Multiple Dental Implants may be used to replace several teeth, creating a secure solution to provide you with a new smile which feels and looks like your natural teeth.
Bridges may be supported on dental implants allowing more teeth to be replaced with less implants. This provides a more cost effective solution than replacing each missing tooth with a single dental implant.
Traditional bridgework requires reduction of the supporting teeth which may then subsequently weaken them. Bridges supported on dental implants do not require damaging healthy teeth which is better for your oral health long term.
We can place titanium implants securely into the bone in place of the tooth root. This is done under local anaesthesia and is straight forward to do. The implant needs time to bond to the bone, this generally takes 3 months. During this time we may fit a temporary bridge or denture to maintain your smile.
Once your dental implants have integrated with the bone the teeth may then be replaced with your permanent bridge. The appearance of the bridge will be carefully matched to the existing teeth.
It is important to take good care of your implants with regular brushing and visits to the dental practice for dental check ups and hygiene
